The Colombia Team
In a beautiful, quiet location on a mountainside in Colombia, nestled perfectly at the bottom of a hill there is a small paradise populated by mango trees, coca bushes, bananas and not least of all the beautiful family of Doña Martha Elena Burgos, and their live-in groundskeeper Jorge.
When you join us for your Clear Vessel Ayahuasca Immersion Retreat these are the folks you get to look forward to working with. We'd like to introduce you right away:
With a twinkle in her eye and a gentle humor that immediately puts even the most nervous of newcomers at ease, the extraordinary presence of Doña Martha Burgos makes it easy to understand why she is, without exaggeration, one of the most reputable and sought after ayahuasca healers on the planet.
Her love and compassion are legendary, and the intimate relationship she has developed with the plants is remarkable even to those of us who have experience with a number of other shamans. Indeed her reputation has earned her the begrudging respect of a great number of her peers and colleagues throughout South America- impressive, considering most of them hold a very machismo view of women and don't often "permit" them to become ayahuasca healers.
Doña Martha
Uniquely, both Doña Martha and her daughter Carolina are also trained nurses, well versed in Western medicine. Doña Martha holds a space between worlds, a bridge between the old and the new, indigenous and modern, mind and heart. As a result, her ceremonies carry a deep relevance for those of us raised in Western culture and yet also serve to connect us deeply to our own indigenous nature and to our place in nature and the cosmos.
Don Jaime
Don Jaime is one of the gentlest and most quietly noble men we have ever met. Never one to get excited, he brings a calm energy to every space he enters. He is a retired judge, well known and respected with a considerable reputation for being one of the most honest and incorruptible magistrates that Colombia has ever seen. He spent a good deal of his career combatting corruption in the legal system, and has stood up on numerous occasions to defend the rights of the indigenous people of his country.
These days however he spends his days supporting his wife quietly behind the scenes, often preparing meals or running errands and picking up supplies. He is an avid fan of Oshi.

Jorge
Jorge is not only the groundskeeper and on-demand handyman, he also plays an important role in supporting Martha & Carolina during ceremonies and making sure all the little details are taken care of.
We have really come to appreciate the unseen and vitally important role he plays.
NSN Staff Member
Every Immersion event is staffed and facilitated by somebody from the NSN tribe. They will be guiding you through the debriefings, coordinating and communicating schedules with you, and serving as a go-between and problem-solver for any requirements that may come up.
